Executive Director

New Jersey Future

New Jersey Future is searching for an experienced Executive Director who will sustain the successful
growth and development of the organization to lead it in new ways to achieve effectiveness and recognition
in contributing to a strong economy, just society, and healthy environment in the state.  

Founded in 1986 by a group of civic, environmental, and business leaders, to support the creation and
implementation of the State Development and Redevelopment Plan, New Jersey Future is the state's oldest
and largest smart growth organization. It seeks to secure economic opportunity, community vitality, and quality
of life for all citizens of the state by promoting both sustainable growth and environmental preservation.  New
Jersey Future employs original research, analysis and advocacy to drive policies and build coalitions that help
revitalize cities and towns, provide transportation and housing choices, generate new jobs, improve opportunities
for the impoverished, and protect natural lands and farm fields.  It is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, statewide
association of concerned citizens and leaders in government, the community, law and planning, business and
education.  New Jersey Future operates from an office in Trenton with an 8-person staff and a budget of
approximately $870,000. There is a 29-person board of trustees led by an 10-person executive committee.

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Chair of the Board and working closely with the Executive Committee and the Board, the
Executive Director will have the responsibility for all aspects of managing the organization and for developing
and implementing a strategic vision for the organization. 

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial with a collaborative style, excellent communications skills and
an ability to achieve the goals of NJF.  The candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to the mission

Faculty Positions

Temple University

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Temple University has openings
for two non-tenure-track faculty positions the general areas of Civil Engineering and
Environmental Engineering.  The positions are from August 2007 through August 2008, and
are renewable.  Candidates should have preferably a Master or a PhD in Civil Engineering or
Environmental Engineering.  Duties include teaching undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering
(preferably in Structures, Construction, and Geotechnical areas) and Environmental Engineering
and Science, and supervising Capstone (Senior Design) projects.  Candidates should possess
the ability to effectively interact with students and faculty, and to deal with a wide range of
