• Public records requests a big business at the DEP Though all New Jersey public agencies are
  subject to Open Public Records Act (OPRA), the DEP has received by far the lion's share- 65 percent-
  of requests sent to state government since the law's inception. That's about 56,000 such requests,
  including nearly 15,000 in the past year. They're handled by a staff of 25 full-timers plus another 120
  staffers whose OPRA contributions make up a share of their work AP Press     
            
• Cops hunt Denville bear killer Authorities are looking for the person who shot and killed a young

• State layoffs, casino closings loom Twenty-five thousand ''non-essential'' state employees, including
  those who oversee PA's casinos, would be out of work early Monday if Gov. Ed Rendell and legislative leaders
