wind project since January, there is uncertainty about whether wind farms, particularly
gigantic turbines positioned off the region’s coastline, will be embraced in New Jersey

• State’s bear-proof plan still in the can A $200,000 pilot program to bring bear-resistant
  garbage cans to six West Milford neighborhoods was heralded by state and township officials
  in June 2005 for its potential to study the cans' effectiveness in keeping bears out of the trash.

• DEP cites company for emissions, odor CertainTeed, a fiberglass insulation factory in a
  Mountain Top industrial park, is issued two violation notices by DEP — one for emitting more
  visible air contaminants than its allowable limit and another for emitting a formaldehyde odor

• Trash haulers in violation at four sites  As part of an ongoing statewide effort to ensure
  trash haulers comply with environmental and highway safety laws, the DEP finds violations on
