Corzine will seek to block bear hunt Gov. Jon Corzine,
a long-time opponent of the state's black bear hunts, is
hoping to prevent this year's six-day season by not signing
off on a key measure that regulates hunting and fishing in
NJ. The action is expected to trigger lawsuits from sporting
groups committed to preserving the hunts Star-Ledger
 

• Highlands residents, environmentalists speak out Hurry up,
  but do it right, was the common theme of comments from the public
  at the NJ Highlands Council’s first full, on-the-record public comment
  session in three months. But the speakers didn't necessarily agree

  sought by district attorneys and child-welfare advocates fails to come
  up for a vote in the state House of Representatives and supporters

  Adirondacks are hot. That good or not? Those who love the

  major development proposals that would resurrect defunct ski areas
  could create a total of more than 1,000 units of housing and several
