• From beneath the sea, Rutgers trio raises a warning By getting more accurate
  readings on the amount of carbon absorbed by the ocean, and the nutrient cycle that
  controls it, scientists can better assess how much more the oceans can do to decrease
  carbon dioxide buildup in the atmosphere.  What  Rutgers scientists are learning is not
  comforting Star-Ledger

• Cleanup on the half shell Thousands of oysters will soon be dumped into the Hackensack
  River in the hope that they will act as a natural water treatment system for the recovering
  waterway. If the experiment works, more juvenile oysters may be headed to several secluded

• Caution urged on wind power systems Developers hope to build hundreds, if not thousands,
  of windmills on the ridge lines of west-central PA. Typical wind turbines stand nearly 375 feet tall--
  about 70 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty -- and can be seen from 15 to 20 miles away. But
  longtime residents of Somerset County, where the building is more advanced, say the turbine
  construction and operation has damaged the environment Patriot-News

• Landfill plans put on hold A Lancaster County company's controversial effort to build a
  landfill in Centre County is on hold until the company can answer questions about access to
