  federal approval to cover with soil and grass a four-story pile of radioactive waste outside its Gloucester County factory in Newfield Inquirer

PA Politics 

• State senator suggests pumping up gasoline tax Gov. Rendell's Transportation Funding and
  Reform Commission is expected to propose solutions by Nov. 15, suggesting a mix of higher state

• PA poised to follow California's stricter car pollution rules The state is moving to adopt
  pollution standards requiring new cars to be cleaner-burning a year from now  and put PA in lockstep
